What does the UNLOCK Personality test actually deliver? Not in theory, but in real everyday work—during recruitment, team building, and even performance review conversations. We spoke with Sandra Snarskė, an HR manager with over fifteen years of experience. After trying the UNLOCK Personality test in one organization, she quickly saw its value and chose to continue using it in her new role. Sandra’s story is an inspiring example of how one tool can become a versatile solution across different HR processes. Dive into her experience and discover practical insights you can apply too.

Why did you decide to try the UNLOCK Personality test?

UNLOCK Personality was one of the tools offered by UNLOCK Tests at the time. The need arose from general organizational demands – related to improving recruitment, annual review formats, and other tools, all of which UNLOCK Tests could provide.

How do you use UNLOCK Personality?

I’ve used it in my former organization, and I continue to use it in my current one – for various purposes that differ depending on the situation and needs.

  • For recruitment processes – both for external and internal candidates. For measuring team dynamics and team formation – we’ve used it even at the point of forming or reforming teams.
  • Another way we use it is in the context of annual reviews – to support personal development and define personal goals.
  • It’s also helpful for personal career planning, clarification, or preparation for job interviews from a candidate’s perspective.

In your opinion, what is the benefit of UNLOCK Personality?

From an organizational perspective, when it comes to recruitment, it simply saves time and makes the process more efficient. Once a candidate has completed the test, the interview becomes much quicker, more effective, and more targeted – connected directly to the specific position in question.
So, it saves time and makes the interview process more efficient and purposeful.
Another benefit is when the tool is used within a team – to help team members get to know each other better, understand each other, and foster collaboration by being aware of strengths and weaknesses in the team. And from a personal perspective, there is value in self-awareness, self-development, and growth in these areas. On an organizational scale, it’s one of the ways personality tests can be used for both personal and team development.

How much time are you able to save with UNLOCK Personality?

From the time-saving perspective, it’s hard to measure precisely, but… realistically, even an hour wouldn’t be enough to ask a candidate so many questions to cover such a broad spectrum of personality traits – which I get from the test after just 30 minutes. So I’d say it definitely saves an hour – at least.

You also obtained the UNLOCK Personality accreditation – how do you evaluate the knowledge you gained?

I took the Personality accreditation roughly six months after I started using the tool, and it gave me a lot – it strengthened me as a user of the tool. It deepened my knowledge, gave me confidence to use it, and helped me understand how broadly and differently it can be applied. I truly value that experience, because it’s quite difficult to gain just by self-studying from learning materials. That’s why the accreditation is holistically valuable.
